I bought these because my family prefers traditional dental floss. And although the classic yarn is more environmentally friendly, I make compromises to avoid voids. These toothpicks are made from cornstarch and are therefore biodegradable - so hooray! - less plastic to stay on earth forever. The floss itself is thin and smooth and slips easily between teeth. I've never had a broken dental floss. All common plastic brands from the drugstore tend to tear or the thread tears off at one end. Nobody in my family has ever experienced that.
