Review on Alpinestars Drystar Textile Motorcycle Jacket Motorcycle & Powersports best on Protective Gear by Erik Gerber

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Turns out about one size smaller than usual.

I usually wear XL but went XXL for the Andes V3 jacket and it fits great. Unsurpassed protection from rain and cold! A little warm for summer rides, even without insulation, but not unbearable. I have paired them with the 4XL Andes V3 Drystar pants and they are great for a 4 season ride here in Tennessee. I've ridden up to 25 degrees Fahrenheit with this suit and the cold hasn't penetrated even after a couple of hours. I've also been in a few storms and the Drystar membrane of the Andes V3 pants and jacket kept me 100% dry. When you need protection from the weather, this suit will help. Some points to note: No spine protector is included, although there is a velcro pocket inside so I can add one, which I did. Also, the rest of the armor on the arms and shoulders is built in, so don't buy if you want to upgrade the armor as it's not possible.

Pros
  • Offers 100% waterproofing and superior breathability even in difficult riding conditions.
Cons
  • Low repairability
