It can burn your mouth if it is connected to the network for too long.
This cup warmer/coffee mug does not meet my expectations. The mug itself gets very hot and will terribly burn you and your lips if you place them on the metal surface of the mug. Was quite shocked at how hot he actually got. To be honest, it doesn't have a temperature control where it will automatically shut off and also set your coffee on fire! I don't recommend it and will be sending it back!
