I have three fountains now with this pump. I have two very important suggestions, however. Keep your drum base full of water.check every couple of days or else the pump will die, forever, which may be true to many other pumps. Secondly, if you've attached everything together after cleaning and your pump becomes stubborn and won't pump, simply pull pump out of drum base keep it plugged in to outlet then open the little shutter plastic piece to make sure it's cleaned out well and take an opened paperclip and poke way inside the part that looks like a mini submarine fan, and move it slightly and will start a hummin for you again.
