Review on πŸ”‹ Apple Smart Keyboard Folio for 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd Generation) - US English: A Smart Accessory for Enhanced Productivity by James Lesley

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Too overpriced and offers next to nothing compared to the iPad Pro.

I bought this from the Apple Store, not my favorite store but unlike Revain they had one in stock. Mine is for the 3rd gen Ipad Pro 2565GB. It is only available in one color - grey. I wanted something that would speed up the meeting process instead of having to turn off my Surface laptop or Surface Pro and take it to a meeting. Unfortunately it isn't. Like all Apple products, it attaches to the iPad with magnets. However, the magnet is weak and during normal use, the iPad will DISCONNECT from the iPad. Not on hard ground but rather on the knees, which puts more strain on the back. Or if you are trying to set up an iPad in one of the 2 available corner points. There is no protection. Drop your iPad and expect the iPad to break, bend, or both. This offers no protection for the iPad, and since the magnets are weak, expect the iPad to pop off easily when you least expect it. And these iPad Pro 12.9 are $$$. Key? Wow, Apple, couldn't they have used smaller buttons? There's so much room for big keys. The keys aren't quiet, louder than I'd hoped, much louder than the actual keyboard on my Surface products, but so far they feel durable. works well on battery. Slim design as it should be given the lack of protection. It's easy too. The iPad Pro's virtual keyboard is way better than the tiny, smaller iPad keyboard. IOS offers since 12 number keys on top, 9 inch screen. So you have to ask yourself if you really need a physical keyboard. It folds up nicely, even with the glass protector on, although the magnet doesn't stick securely. Overall, this is a $40 keyboard that Apple is charging $200 for. I'll probably return this and wait for a quality aftermarket keyboard to be released, maybe even backlit, which it isn't. I'm not a fan of Apple dolls, so anything Apple makes doesn't automatically make me love it. And this product is definitely not impressive and there is no reason to overpay compared to the older model, even with the Apple tax. iOS offers number keys on top with a 12.9-inch screen.
