Not matte - glitter!
I don't see anything on this box that indicates it has GLOSS. I bought the black one to use on my 8 year old son's pants. It was a one time deal and the shine in it ruined the look. I also bought red and blue for my daughter. Although it also has a sheen, it doesn't seem as obvious as the sheen in black. You really don't see it when you look at the bottle and it's unlabelled. Of the 3 colors I chose, black looked more like grey, red - like pink, and only blue turned out to be the same shade as in the bottle.
