These are really more extra cushion socks, not hiking socks. They were comfy but if you're looking for true hiking socks, find the smart wool socks. Because these are synthetic, they do make your feet sweat more than if you were in real hiking socks. Granted these do have extra cushioning which makes them comfy, I don't think I'd buy these again for hiking. Drop the extra money and get the real hiking socks. Big difference. My husband says these also hurt his feet because they are slightly too small. I bought the women's version of these socks and I agree. I now wear his socks and like them far better than mine. Still though, not for hiking!
