Review on Hyde Tools 18 Inch Acrylic Knockdown by Casey Mann

I'd like to start by saying that I value Revain reviews and use them as the basis for most purchasing decisions. I bought the Hyde Knockdown Knife in large part based on the very high positive reviews. I would also like to point out that I have been doing home renovations for 40 years and have considerable experience removing popcorn from ceilings. However, when I received the product, I was surprised at how thin it was. However, I tested it along with a 10" drywall blade after naturally wetting the blanket and letting it soak for at least 15 minutes. blade angle, power and speed. I have tried the Hyde product several times. It was too flexible and didn't have a thin enough edge to cut through wet leaf rock and wet popcorn. material against its removal. (I want to stress here that there are reviewers of this product who tend to hit out at this type of review by saying that maybe the blanket wasn't wet enough, that I just didn't understand how to use the tool , or both. This isn't the only case.) Based on my general experience with popcorn removal, I believe the bad experience I've had with this tool is likely due to the ceiling being painted, like paint the material sealed and water ingress prevented . I will try this remedy again in an unpainted room. I expect better results, maybe much better. This remains to be seen. The reason I decided to write this is because I saw a number of very positive reviews that not only touted the effectiveness of the product but ridiculed those who had negative experiences as "newbies". have that just didn't know what they were doing. . I find it far more likely that people reporting negative experiences had problems with colored popcorn (possibly multiple layers), which would likely require more invasive methods. Accept the fact that it probably works well with uncolored or lightly colored popcorn, as many people in these reviews attest.
