I'll start by noting that I'm not a music lover, but I also don't care that my music sounds good. I like the good seal, noise isolation and in-ear stability when exercising. Because of this, I was usually limited to the $10-$20 range. In the last ten years I have had about 4-5 pairs of headphones, some of which I have reordered several times because I liked them, even though they broke several times. They all had ear hooks because I used them for running on the treadmill. All were positioned as "noise isolating" and some as "bass-boosting". Now were my last KZ-ZST and after 1.5 years the cable connection broke on one side. So I decided to try out some TWS because firstly I was tired of messing around with cables, and secondly I wanted to break the $10-20 mark for headphones. There's one exception to my headphone history, and that was the $90 pair that I'll talk about below. Everyone was praising the T1X, but then I noticed the T1XS, which was newer, only $5 more (on sale) than the T1X and had even better reviews. I've always been skeptical of everything, but I decided to give it a try. They arrived, I put them on and played some of my favorite songs. Man, let me tell you, I felt like I wasted a decade of quality music enjoyment. With the T1XS, I literally discover every tune in my music library with a clarity I've never heard before. When connected to a phone via the FIIL+ app, you can set equalizer presets that greatly alter the sound. My favorite is the home theater preset because it lets the bass ring out. Similarly, when I'm at my computer, I make sure "Bass Boost" is enabled in the Windows sound settings and everything sounds better. I thought I knew what good bass sounded like, but that turned out to be wrong. I thought I heard details in my music, but then again. I was wrong. I thought I knew what good stability in the ears was and I was wrong. I bought a pair of Klipsch IMAGE S4s for $90 as an experiment in 2011 and I still remember how they sounded. The bass was muted, subdued, and the highs were overwhelming. I could never get a good seal and they just wouldn't fit comfortably in my ears. That doesn't mean Klipsch is bad, but it does show that price isn't necessarily a mark of quality. The T1XS is half the price, but offers more than twice the sound quality and convenience. Pros: Amazing sound, punchy detail, bass sounds like you're in a car with top-notch subwoofers or in a movie theater. fits well in your ear during exercise, bluetooth connection or when switching connection between devices (e.g. from phone to computer), but this is easily solved by restarting the headphones or long pressing on the headphones, which doesn't work. - The FIIL+ app will not close unless Android is forcibly stopped. Sometimes it crashes too. - There is no way to disable touch controls. This becomes an issue when you're wearing a hat that comes in contact with the touch surface and unintentionally pauses, skips to the next song, or even turns off your headphones. This is my main complaint about winter road running. - Taking the headphones out of the case is cumbersome. They tend to slip. In summary, this is a popular option and one of the most positive reviews for headphones. If sound and fit are most important and you don't need a flashy, stylish design, then for the price (I have them on sale for less than $45), that's no problem.
