The first unit wouldn't turn on so we sent it back and got a replacement. We struggled with the second block after some disappointing starts. It doesn't use other bags we had on hand (Food Saver brand) so we used the bags provided. After making 6-7 bags of fish fillets, he started shortening the cycle and sealing the bags before all the air was removed. This isn't our first device and we got it as an upgrade from our worn cheaper devices in the past. Aside from the bag-type issue, the first few bags worked well, although we expected better suction from this pricier device. Very disappointed with this and we made sure the settings were correct. Finally, there is some sort of mesh tape over the heat seal bar. On other units we've had it's usually a gold colored/fine mesh screen built into the sealant housing. The tape was poorly glued (crumpled) and after one session it started peeling off at one end. See photo of it above. With all that and a major issue with the first device, we're not keeping it and are requesting a full refund. Maybe we were expecting too much but honestly I don't think so as we've had cheaper devices that have always worked better. For the money it should have been a lot better.
