We have been using the Turbocat central vacuum nozzle in our Vacuflo whole house system for over 25 years and in that time it has stood the test of time and is still in use in our partially completed basement. For a small white dog that sheds 2 to 4 inches of hair continuously, the old continuous brush system always needed (and still does!) regular cleaning after almost every use; because the brushes are heavily clogged with dog hair! And it would take a long process to pull out and vacuum the roller brush assembly. The new Turbocat's new graduated bristle design is a marvel! Yes, it still picks up some dog hair on the brush unit, but it's not as much as the older unit. So this is a huge improvement in terms of mopping floors and carpets and vacuuming up dog hair instead of collecting it in the Turbocat roller brush! If there's a downside, it's that the turbine in the new block whines significantly louder than the old unit. This can be quite frustrating and limits anyone trying to talk about it while running. I'm not sure if it's the bearings or just the nature of the turbine element itself. BUT IT MAKES MUCH MORE NOISE THAN THE EARLY MODEL AND CANNOT BE USED CONTINUOUSLY FOR MORE THAN 2 OR 3 HOURS WITHOUT PROPER PROTECTION TO AVOID POSSIBLE HEARING DAMAGE.
