I compared it to the S7, which I eventually abandoned (I went through it for 2.5 years). The first awe has worn off. Hardly none of the improvements made over the past three years (apart from the sound) are noticeable (battery, size, the indicator of missed events was removed). Even after 2.5 years of use, the new Samsung shell isn't perfect; I didn't like the gray background in the applications section (with a dark theme), the side lighting doesn't work on all applications (despite checking each one individually to ensure the slider was in the correct position), and the battery holds even a little worse than on the S7. Just the primary camera has good focusing, while the secondary camera is noticeably darker due to a lower aperture ratio, and the width lacks optical stabilization, as far as I can tell. Simply put, the addition of more cameras is a luxury. In conclusion, the S10 is still an option if you want to upgrade from the S7, but I wouldn't recommend spending more than $40,000 on a new phone. And with foreknowledge of the S10's subtleties, perhaps another year or two would be like the S7 before making the leap to something truly superior in every way.
