We have been big fans of Gamewright for a while. We frequently get games from Gamewright without knowing much about them just because we trust the brand. Shifting Stones does not disappoint! The instructions for this game were easier to get through than many Gamewright games, game play is easy to understand, and it's quick and easy to begin to realize where the strategy comes in here. Because the "board" (you lay 9 squares out and they can move) is different every time, and the goals you are working toward change, it offers a lot of replay-ability. Great for spatial planning. We have only played with two people and we put the game angled between us to make it easier. Everyone is to play with the "board" being the same orientation. If you are sitting on the side or viewing the board upside-down it could make it a little more challenging. Just be mindful when playing with kids or people who struggle with spatial planning to orient them the right way so it's a bit easier for them. The box isn't as small as some other Gamewright games, so it's not quite as portable as many of their offerings, but it's not huge. You could also put the cards and tiles in a small bag and transport (you would just have to worry about card damage transporting them that way). In comparison with other game boxes this would be considered on the small side of medium box.
