Small perfect for our 5lb Chihuahua. It's easy to put on, it fits but not tight. The valve on his neck floats in water to keep his mouth from going under water. We had to take it off so he could eat/drink as he couldn't reach the floor in it. He feels comfortable enough in it to wear for several hours while we kayak. He is not a swimmer and prefers to kayak while my son swims. The handle at the top is strong enough to be able to lift it up if needed without putting pressure on it. We've only used it a few times so far but it seems to be of good quality and will hold up well.
