Well, if this life jacket is good enough for Lewis, it'll be good enough for your dog. Lewis doesn't like anything. I mean he hates treats, balls and squeaky toys. You name it, he hates it. Water. He hates her too. So we bought him this life jacket. He walks around in that thing like a goddamn tuxedo. If he falls off the boat, she even has a handle to lift all of his 17 pounds back. Purchased for my Frenchton pup. She is smaller than the average French bulldog and has a pigeon chest making her difficult to place under the belly and around the chest. He can wear it, but it barely reaches his 18-inch chest and is a bit long for him in the lower abdomen, making it uncomfortable to sit on. Small perfect for our 5lb Chihuahua. It's easy to put on, it fits but not tight. The valve on his neck floats in water to keep his mouth from going under water. We had to take it off so he could eat/drink as he couldn't reach the floor in it. He feels comfortable enough in it to wear for several hours while we kayak.
