Review on ๐Ÿงต SINGER 07175 Sewing and Detail Scissors Set with Ergonomic Comfort Grip by Sasha Hsiao

Sweet. That's all. the best of cutting tools

I thought Singer was a good sewing brand and I couldn't go wrong with these scissors. PLUS, the pink and white colors might interest my little sewing apprentices. very cute color. So I went ahead and ordered 4 sets. After several uses, 2 of them started to fade. I had other scissors and that was the least I needed to take with me. You can't cut denim at all, not even jersey or cotton jersey. After 6 months, the large scissors are now completely unusable. I've tried sharpening them but to no avail. Maybe I can just use them to cut paper, but I haven't tried. Small ones are fine too, since they're only used for trimming thread, but they're not the sharpest either. So I give 1 star just for the beauty. I'm just sad that I bought 4 sets and can't even return them because I live all the way in the Philippines. I think it's one of those things that you just think of as experience. Note to self: Only buy scissors that you can actually try before you pay for them. And it doesn't matter what brand. The best fabric scissors I've used so far are the ones I bought from Japan Home, where everything sells for 88 Philippine pesos (about $2).

Pros
  • stainless steel blades resist rust, cuts and scrapes
Cons
  • crumpled packaging
