WELDED ball on a very strong female coupling. Welded ball joints actually pass higher tests than bolted ball joints. The downside, of course, is when a different size ball cannot be placed on a welded hitch. The product makes a very durable impression. I bought a similar welded product from Harbor Freight Tools but stopped using it because the weld seemed weak and I don't want my trailer going anywhere on its own! It was almost the same price ----
