Review on BORA Portamate PM 3550 Super Mobile by Muhamed Hogan

UPDATE: I've been using my 480lb jointer on this mobile base for over a year now and have started noticing the flanges that the wheels attach to. track and do not allow the wheels to fully rotate under the weight. I'm not sure why, as nothing looks like it's bent out of shape. Anyway, I put four 1/2 inch washers between each wheel and its mounting plate and pryed the flanges off the wheel. Now it works even better than new, allowing me to change directions when moving it around my shop with very little effort. I heard Boar released a new base with bigger wheels that might solve this problem. You can also check it out to see if it suits your needs. Swivel Wheels is a great mobile base. Received it in excellent condition contrary to some other reviews and found it easy to assemble although I recommend having two people to place the heavy tool on the base. 480 lb jointer/planer and since all wheels swivel it's very easy to maneuver anywhere in the workshop. Four leveling feet make it easy to stabilize the tool on uneven floors. If the wheels are down, just make sure all four blocks are slightly touching the ground. Then when you lift the wheels (which move easily and easily) the tool sits securely in place without moving or leaning into one of the corners. Even under stress. I have looked at many other mobile bases but this base with its large carrying capacity, all swivel wheels and easy leveling makes it a great base for the price.
