Review on πŸ”Œ Leviton GFNT1-W SmartlockPro Non-Tamper-Resistant Receptacle by Nikith Brewster

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not bad, good value, minor flaw

This could be a five star product. For starters, this is the cheapest recognizable brand GFCI socket I could find. Second, the automatic self-test feature is reassuring and I have no reason to believe it's not doing the job. It's as easy to install as any GFCI device and its low profile leaves plenty of room in your outlet. wiring box. However, there is a star deduction for the test switch on the front panel. Most GFCI devices simulate a ground fault to disable the outlet. This is not. It mechanically pushes the switch to the tripped position and relies on the outlet's reset self-diagnostic capabilities to "test" it. It's only worth one star because socket testers that can simulate a ground fault are very affordable, but it doesn't inspire confidence.

Pros
  • Patented lockout feature prevents reset when GFCI is damaged and unable to respond to ground fault
Cons
  • disappears
