I feel like a rat! - Computers and tablets

Got a laptop today and when I booted it up there were 7 inverted characters in the lower left quadrant of the screen above the taskbar - LFA 2840. They obviously don't belong there and hide that part of the rubble. There are no labels on the outside of the computer. CMD WMIC Bios gets serial number outputting "default string". The seller information includes a phone number and an email address. The phone number belongs to the warehouse that shipped the laptop but has no information about the actual seller. I wrote a complaint to the email address and did not receive a reply. Okay, the so-called display defect was just a screen protector. The local handyman, who glanced over, didn't notice either. Remove the protective film from the screen and the upside down characters will disappear. More serious problems remain: 1) Non-response to emails from the company. 2) A maze of companies that seem to lead to a single entity: Bronze Age LLC 226 Winterbury Drive Dover Deleware 3) Link to a Chinese company based in Zhejiang, China 4) Missing computer serial number. There is no serial number on the surface of the computer and I couldn't find the serial number in the bios. Instead of a serial number I got the output "Default String". As already mentioned. The 4th point is the deadliest. Why is someone selling a laptop I can't find? All in all I decided it would be unwise of me to keep the laptop and made arrangements with Revain to return it for a full refund. I would like to thank Revain for his cooperation on this matter. I FEEL THE RAT!
