Just received this weekend for 1/2 off Revain stock (must use, in great condition). Unfortunately it had a broken weight zone (could not attach bottom string) and one paddle was missing a full grip. (And the weird rackets, of course!) Luckily, Revain worked with me and I ended up keeping it to myself (I knew about this product because I recently bought two others for my family to introduce to the game). I also got one of the racquet grip tapes (purple, if you must know) to add to the missing grip paddle and it was good enough (which was lying around the house). Between that and the somewhat clever way of binding neatly, I got it working sufficiently for our purposes. The negative aspects that have been written about are fairly well known: strength (absence); represent rudder; a regular ball (but actually a regular minus); slightly tight net; and not in full width. The positives for me are: 1) Introduces people with a low entry bar to the game; 2) Easy setup; 3) What difference does it make if they break the rudder?; 4) Suitable for skinny singles if you are waiting for the court to open (and you are using either a set of Franklin Sports pickleball court markers or something similar) or tape to mark the spots. (with real ball and bats of course) which can be useful during training or in the parking lot for tournaments when no seats are available; 6) It is portable. (I just have to find an old tent bag to keep it in) and lighter than the full-size portable nets I have one of (it was a great price, by the way, just under $60 from what I remember); 7) Excellent concept. This is the key. Even if the setting isn't up to par, it's on the way to being useful. Either this company or another company should be able to do better at half the price. They have a good margin for doing this for at least three reasons: economies of scale; the product still doesn't cost that much and there are more players every hour. Enjoy and set your expectations accordingly and this should suit you: (practice, skinny singles, meet family, tournament warm-up, good travel companion).
