This is an attractive well made light weight soup ladle with a good spoon and it would meet my needs if the length listed is an actual length from bottom to above would stand upright, but it isn't. The length is correct as long as you measure with a cloth and follow the bulge of the bucket to 15.8 inches. When standing upright and being moved, it measures just over 13.5 inches. I need an overall length of 16" or 17" as I regularly make a large pot of homemade soup. and it is necessary that my hand does not get in the soup. Now she's standing next to other ladles that I don't use. If my reason for buying it was shorter, the ladle would be great.
