I bought these because I wanted crushed ice but didn't want to be constantly breaking or crushing ice. These cubes are small enough to live up to expectations. Because these are hard cubes, they don't melt as quickly as crushed ice and won't dilute your drink as quickly. It also means I wouldn't recommend chewing them as you're more likely to break a tooth like a regular ice cube. Of course, they're the perfect size to chew on if you're willing to take the risk. Ice is easily removed from the trays. Anyone who has trouble ejecting dice is likely to overfill their trays. I've found that as long as the water doesn't overflow through the shapes connecting one cube to another, there's no problem getting the cubes out. Maybe a cube or two is stuck, but a palm or two touches on the bottom will help loosen it. For those wondering, YES, THEY FOLD. The lower part of the trays has legs on the corners, so one tray can be stacked on top of the other. Great purchase, I will definitely buy them again.
