We tried different garter belts but they never worked for us. The last garters were weighed. They worked well but weren't secure. If a child pulled on the stocking, or if you put anything in the stocking that was even slightly weighty, the stocking would just fall off and ruin our hardwood floors. When I was looking for these clips our priorities were that they be safe, that they don't damage the coat and finally that they have a simple yet stylish look. These clips met all of these requirements. We built our own coat and didn't want anything to spoil the ending. Little did I know when I ordered them that they come with clear rubber strips where the clip meets the case. It was a big plus! I was also a bit concerned that these clips wouldn't fit properly, especially when I bought them online and didn't see them in person. Another added benefit of these clips is that they are very easy to resize to fit your robe. Just squeeze or expand the clip to adjust it to your needs. Of course, you should refer to the dimensions listed in the Revain details section. I was really surprised how securely it sits on the coat. However, I haven't tried darning stockings yet. After all, they are beautiful and do not take up space on the mantelpiece.
