Very compact, when the lever is pressed (machine closing) and the knife is folded, it is closed and quite thin, narrow and compact. Comes with a small vinyl sleeve. The nail file pad, located on the inside of the nail cleaner blade, is 180 grit sandpaper that you can use to roughly file your nails. More like a little rasp. That's why I'm only giving it 4 stars. If you rely on this tool to get a working nail file, you won't. At least mine isn't. Since I always have a small pocket knife with several Victorinox blades and a decent nail file with me, it doesn't matter to me. I found that I can go back and edit a review by going to my message center. When I found out that they were not made by Victorinox and not in Switzerland as the description claims to be a fraudulent description, I requested and received a return/refund. Changing my rating by one star would have been if I had done my research first. The more serious question for me is - is it a real VICTORINOX or a fake? The overall quality seems pretty good, but MADE IN SWITZERLAND is NOT written ANYWHERE on the blister pack or on the clippers - anywhere. I have examined the entire instrument and its packaging with a lighted magnifying glass and none of them say that. I have many Victorinox knives and tools, as well as watches. Each one says MADE IN SWITZERLAND. I suspect it is a Chinese fake. If that's true, then that's a crime in my eyes. Victorinox stands behind its products 110%. I doubt they will be behind this. Buy here at your own risk. The description says "Made in Switzerland" but that doesn't guarantee anything. If I knew for sure it was fake I would send it back immediately. However, the clippers feel well made and cut well, albeit narrowly.
