Initially bought two of these in preparation for a month-long trip, and used them for commuting to and from work (about 5 miles round trip) and for training on longer rides by adding weight to simulate having to carry our luggage in the bags for the trip. For light / casual use, the bags are very good. Lots of space, easy to load on / unload off the bike. The "backpack" top piece isn't really a true backpack (the straps aren't padded and will chafe quickly), but it's fine in a limited roll. One of the "connection" zippers between my top bag and right side back was very fussy, but I got used to it and figured out how to work around its quirks.Unfortunately, we had to send our bags back for two reasons.1) Even with the outer rain cover that comes with the bags, they are not waterproof. The rain cover is *not* waterproof. In light or intermittent rain, they will probably be fine, but in sustained or heavy rain, things *will* get wet in the bags. Since we are going to be carrying all of our clothes and personal items (including things like cell phones) with us on the trip, waterproof bags are essential.2) The bags aren't very durable. They come with a note warning against overloading the side bags, but the "warning weight" is far too optimistic. I have been riding with 5-8 pounds of weight in each of the side bags, and within about three weeks, the seams on one of the bags is starting to tear open. One of the zipper handles has already broken off.We still have four weeks before we leave for our trip, but now we're scrambling to find new panniers that will keep our belongings try and withstand a month of daily use.Update: I was able to find the product instructions again, so I thought I would share them here. First, the instructions list a weight limit of 15kg (about 33 pounds) for the side bags. It's unclear whether this is supposed to be per-bag, or in total, but I never loaded the bags with more than 16 total pounds (8 lbs per bag) and still suffered ripping. Second, despite the product name and description on Best Buy starting that the bags are waterproof, the instructions themselves even explicitly state that they are *not* waterproof. So I guess you can add "false representation" to the list of product problems.
