Review on Women'S Open Front Cardigan Sweater By OLRAIN by Michael Hemmig

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It has hips sewn into it, if that makes any sense

OK, I decided to keep this, but I thought I should issue a warning: You can't really tell from the picture, but the sides of this garment are sort of gusseted (like a pleating, almost -- I don't know the technical term) so that they go out, almost like a bustle. On someone like me who already has significant hips, this makes me look like an Oompa Loompa in a funhouse mirror. The ONLY way I can wear this without looking ridiculous is by belting it (which sort of clamps the gussets down and, of course, shows that I actually have a waist). Just thought I'd throw that out there for other hippy gals considering it.I wear anything from size 4 to size 8 in pants, and I ordered the small because I didn't want the waist to be huge, but I guess it's a moot point if I'm belting it. Maybe the medium would have been better, because the gussets on the side would have been more evenly distributed around my whole body, not just on the side of my hips? Regardless, it's a pretty print (I got the dark blue with the cherry blossoms) and looks cute when you find the right way to wear it.

Pros
  • I wore this with a black dress and received many compliments. Perfect for fall!
Cons
  • The pockets add unnecessary bulk to the sweater
