Review on 🔌 Cable Matters Active Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter with Eyefinity Technology and 4K Resolution Support by Kev Mills

I need this for Surface Laptop 2 to output to LG Ultra Widescreen Monitor. The regular minidp HDMI adapters/cables I tried didn't work either when plugged into the docking station or directly on the surface. After some research I saw many of the same questions and answers pointing to an active minidp hdmi adapter. What have I lost after 2 adapters and a cable? Found and tried it and it worked as advertised, allowed me to display 2560x1080. It automatically detected the connection to the minidp port on the surface. Rebooted it just in case and was able to choose my resolution. I still had no connection to the docking station. Now I can stop looking at the black bars on the sides of the monitor because they can't fill the entire screen.
