Out of the box I was very disappointed. The description I read said nothing about buying a remanufactured lens. However, when I opened the box there was a sticker saying it had been refurbished. So I'm a little frustrated because I see others being listed as refurbished for a few hundred dollars less than what I paid. So I would say it's very deceptive. Very disappointing. **Edit** used it for the first time yesterday to see how it works. It seems to have worked fine. In the middle of my session I noticed that it wasn't focusing properly and the whole frame was shifting. Pretty nervous actually (on a tripod mind you). Today I decided to try again. Worked fine for a while and then started again before focus stopped completely. There is no sound of the motor trying to focus. Very disappointing considering I had a photo session planned. I did a session manually but I am very disappointed with this lens. You shouldn't have been given a refurbished lens to begin with, let alone one that won't last more than a day. I am sending it back asap so I can get something else before my next scheduled photoshoots.
