I read the reviews and decided on this sharpener. I wanted something I can carry around and sharpen various tools while I'm packing or when I'm away. Read how carbide sharpeners tear a knife. This sharpener has multiple carbide sharpening angles suitable for various sharpening of knives and even axes (for cases where the blade is damaged or very dull). It also includes a ceramic "V" and a ceramic ruler for thinning the edge on knives (even serrated blades) that you would use to simply bring back a knife blade that dulls with normal use. Wanted to cover all my bases with one tool. If I damage my blade I can repair and sharpen it as needed and keep my blades sharp as they dull with normal use. I also wanted something that could give Woodsman Pal an edge, and this tool provides that as well. It's small and well made of metal. It has to last a lifetime. Watch some Youtube videos about the product before making a decision.
