They do their job very well. I put them in my compost bin in the kitchen until they're full, then have my son take them outside in one big pile. They sit in the kitchen trash can for days, sometimes for almost a week, and I've never had a problem with ripping or ripping. They hold up surprisingly well considering some of the other reviews. Only if they stand in the trash can for too long does some liquid sometimes seep out. I have a stainless steel bucket so I just rinse it out and it's not a problem for me. Also, I didn't have any odor issues, which is great because if there were even a slight smell, my husband would be the first to complain! I compost for my lawn/trees, the pile is far from home and these bags are great for my purpose.
