just like when she used a normal iron

My wife got this press for Christmas. I watched her iron a shiny vinyl shirt that was very thick, I saw that she had to iron the vinyl two and three times just like she did when using a regular iron. She had to preheat the shirt and then iron it, putting all her weight on the press. When the vinyl wasn't sticking, she kept pushing. So I decided to check the temperature on the press. I used two different laser IR thermometers. Both had the same results within 0.02-0.03 degrees. I set the press to 330 and waited for the press to heat up until it beeped. I measured the center of the abs and it showed 220. Towards the edges it read between 180-200 and even in a corner at 98 degrees. I knew something was wrong. I assumed from the start that the press would work the way Kriku designed it. The press makes a solid and well-made impression, so I didn't think it was a defect. I thought the temperatures shown were just not possible with this press. After exchanging emails with a foreign support representative for over three weeks asking me to send proof of purchase and a video of me reading preliminary documents with a case number written on paper and visible in the video, they sent me one new press . I received this press today and couldn't wait to test the new press. And it is not surprising that this press behaved the same as the first. At a 330 pace, the press scored 232-248. I then set the press to 250. When measured, the temperature was actually between 184 and 195. Since most HTVs require 305 to 350 to transfer vinyl properly, this press doesn't even come close to the required temperature. FYI I also checked the temp of a Hotronix press that I have access to and the temp is within 2 degrees of the displayed temp of 315 degrees. Bottom line, the temperature of the press doesn't even come close to the declared temperature, which was tested on two different presses. I'm going to test out some friends presses and see what measurements I get from them. I'm willing to bet big money, the results will be the same.
