Definitely a size up as other reviews say. The typical size 5 shirts get tight for my son so I ordered the smaller ones (6-7) for him. When they arrived they looked gigantic. So I ordered xs (4-5) for him and they fit him perfectly out of the bag, they even had a bit of room to grow. However, after realizing that it was 100% cotton I decided to wash one of the small ones and after washing it turned out to be exactly the same size as before washing xs. That means the smalls now fit my son a size 5 perfectly and the xs will be too small after washing. Also, the pre-washed shoulders and sleeves were oversized and looked a bit off when my son stretched his arms. But after washing, the sleeves shrunk and now look normal. In my photo, the red shirt is washed and tumble dried on low speed. The blue shirt is brand new, never washed, very small. They are the same size except Small has smaller sleeves (more proportional).
