These are simple electronics that just work and occupy a small discreet box. under the name "APARTMENT". Just plug and play by connecting RCA cables from my turntable to the input and from the outputs of the box to the input of my amp. No ground loop issues and no need for a fairly well written little manual. By buying a preamp, I was able to continue using my old stereo amp without a phono input. I used to connect my even older amplifier with a preamp between the turntable and the main amplifier. Now everything is much easier. The first photo above shows the small form factor of the preamp. It fits under the RCA cables behind the main amp. I glued felt feet to the box to improve airflow and cooling and to prevent slipping. A previous reviewer suggested adding rubber feet. I agree it would be helpful. The included power adapter is the usual cumbersome wall-mounted device that's notoriously known to take up too much space on the power board and clog other outlets. He is the top one in the photo. You will find that I use Miady Short Power extension cords to solve this problem. These are cheap 8"/20cm extensions that sell in packs of 10 for less than $20. On the other hand, the power supply is universal voltage/frequency. All in all, it was a cheap, straightforward, and easy to install solution for my Problem. I didn't notice any distortion in the sound from the preamp, yes, I wasn't expecting it. Although I use it to digitize my old records. We love old vinyl. The scratches are reproduced perfectly.
