Review on TEXALAN Milling Machine Lockdown Vise by Edwin Black

I won't lie. I was a little disappointed.1. When I first pulled it out of the heavily beaten box. The vise itself was pretty broken as it was dangling around the handle and only a piece of styrofoam was holding it (nothing on top) and when I say "chips" I know it sounds petty, accept the fact that it was original a blue was vice the color of the chips! I didn't notice it on the list at first but after getting it I came back and there are even blue chips on the list! Parts that were not powder coated in the 'Silver Black' color shown were a blue tint making them appear like a refurbished TBH item. I would never have ordered this product if I had known about it. Covering two different suits just didn't make sense unless it was a comeback that was also hit. Don't get me wrong, I like black (that's the only reason I ordered it) but c'mon, at least take off the blue first or don't cover it with blue at all. I'm sure after a few years of use it will look like complete garbage, which means I'll probably have to correct your mistakes properly. there was superficial rust in some places. There's nothing steel wool can't fix, but I really wouldn't need to do it with a new vise. Yes, it's a cheap vise, but I've seen HF items that are better protected.3. It took forever to ship from one state. longer than if I had just ordered it from eBay. Not at all thrilled about having to wait almost a week to get a tracking number before it ships, especially for an item that was supposed to be in stock when I ordered it. Good Good. Pros: He is strong. DIFFICULT! glides well, grips well. The hardware was an added plus and I love that the swivel base is detachable. Sized to fit mini-mills such as the Sieg X2 style mini-mills and allows good Z-axis clearance with collets. May I recommend this vise at the moment and at this time? To be honest, no. I'd say just buy the blue version, at least it wouldn't look like someone stole it and tried to repaint it like an amateur if it was chipped. In addition, at least the blue version comes with Prime. If you don't mind slow deliveries and like lazy refurbished stuff, then yes, that's fine. lol will this stand the test of time? I have no idea but will update this review if not. You can bet on it.
