Excellent. Bye.

Edit 1/4/21: Finally got around to recording over the radio and the results, as expected, are quite a loud sound floor. It works for me, but don't expect great radio recordings. Received about a week ago and so far happy with this recorder/tape recorder. I've listened to about a dozen tapes at the moment and have no serious complaints. Please note that the device is fully monophonic, which may be inconvenient for you. I haven't recorded anything yet, but will update when I'm done. As for the built-in battery, I haven't used it yet and most likely won't bother. Battery life on the AA seems decent. Both AM and FM reception are excellent. I live near a large metropolitan area where both dials are full, so YMMV. The dial on the device is small, so fine-tuning can be a little fiddly. I am very glad that he has a telescopic antenna. The device is easy to use and the controls/buttons are well thought out. The headphones sound loud enough for old ears. The volume of the built-in speaker is good and more than sufficient at close range. Fit and finish appear to be of good quality for such a cheap tape recorder; However, the device is a bit thicker than a regular Walkman player. Overall, it feels durable and can withstand some abuse. For fun, I played a pre-loaded classical music cassette recorded in HX (Headroom eXention) Pro and Dolby S noise reduction through headphones. Although in mono, the result is impressive. I bet a professional mono recording will sound amazing. My only real issues: I wish the headphone jack was stereo and I wish it had a belt clip. A radio tuning lamp would be nice too. I really hope she survives.

Pros
  • Convenient control; volume and frequency adjustment knob; Tape playback control buttons; clear and simple functions; easy to use
Cons
  • damaged
