Review on upHere RGB Case Fan with Motherboard Sync, Adjustable Colorful LED Fans, Controller and PWM Fans - PF1207-5. by Charles Lardieri

Great price for RGB fans.

I ordered these fans because I have a 120mm Uphere CPU liquid cooler. These fans go well together, but I like them so much I'm using them in another build. I'm very tired of RGB. I cringe every time I see another rainbow colored mash. But I like the ability to change colors to suit my mood. The key is in the implementation. The fans push out a lot of air and the blades are oriented to deliver decent static pressure. They include rubber grommets for corner mounts to reduce vibration. There's also a decent fan/LED control module, but the thing takes up very little space. However, with so many cables, a hub is a must. In terms of aesthetics, they look good if not terribly amazing. The fan hubs are large, so the LEDs shine outwards. Not my favorite alignment but it dissolves well with low opacity matte blades. The color accuracy is above average, the white color is not bluish at all. Most RGB devices struggle with yellow/orange, and the boxed controller is no exception. The fans were well controlled by the motherboard, both in terms of LEDs and fan speeds. And now about the main disadvantage, and it is important. Each fan has 2 cables: 12V fan power and 3-pin RGB cable. They reduced spaghettification by using thin and flat cables. However, in my experience, due to the tiny gauge of wire, they can be easily pinched and snapped with regular cables. Be careful! Some other fan manufacturers have developed ingenious designs to daisy chain multiple fans without tangled cables. Of course, these fans come at a premium. But I think over time all RGB fan kits will include a way to minimize cables. So for now it's a good budget option. Just be aware that there are many thin cables in your future. highlighted.
