I've been riding the Octopi for about a month and it's working great! It took a bit of effort to get it working, but it's definitely worth it! Being new to the Pi it didn't boot at first (of course), but after reading another review I realized I might have connected the fan to the wrong pins. I tried swapping them out and that still didn't fix the problem. After Googling a little more, I tried a more expensive SD card than the one that came with the 3D printer. Now it works great! I don't seem to have any overheating issues so I just connected the fan to the lower speed pins. It's super fast! For this review, I had to use a test build of Octopi, but I don't see any errors and installed multiple plugins with no problem. I also received an Arducam OV5647 with an Arducam lens and ribbon extenders for surveillance. and time lapse my prints. It might be a bit overkill for what I'm doing, but I like how fast it is. There's even a small notch on the case for the camera strap to fit through. I definitely recommend browsing YouTube and Octoprint.com to set everything up the way you like it, as well as what SD cards to use and set up that others like.
