Review on πŸ”₯ Equus 7363 - Chrome Fuel Level Gauge with Black Dial, Top-quality Performance by William Pacino

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quick and easy installation. See UPDATE #1 and UPDATE #2 for the 1977 Jeep. Installation

Easy installation and seems to work fine on my 1977 Jeep CJ5. I have to wait until I've used up part of my full tank to check accuracy. UPDATE #2: I started with a full tank and used 7 gallons. The sensor never moved. I read the data sheet that came with the meter and found that AMC applications require a reading of 33 ohms full and 240 ohms empty. That's a far cry from factory specs for an AMC Jeep. I referenced the factory manual which says 10 ohms full, 23 ohms half and 73 ohms empty. This sensor will never be accurate, so it's completely useless in the AMC Jeep app. However, it fills a 2" hole in my dash quite well! Update #2: Make sure you know what resistance in ohms you need before buying A fuel gauge. Not me. I bought 7363 and it doesn't work with my application. I hope to help any future DIY enthusiast find the right caliber. Here are the ohm ranges for different vehicles: 0-30 ohms (GM Type '64 and earlier) - 0-90 ohms (GM Type '66 and later) - 75-10 ohms (Ford Type '86 and earlier ) - 16-158 ohms (Ford Type '87 and up) - 90-0 ohms (Toyota and Nissan '85 and up) - 240-33 ohms (standard aftermarket). Later I ordered 7361, 75-10 ohms. Spring. Live and learn!
