Bought these to wear under dresses and jeans for our cold winters, but they are a perfect fit for workout pants as well. Waited to write a review until they went through the wash to see if the softness would stay, and it did even after a hot wash and dry. They are a luxurious pleasure to wear, so, so wonderfully soft. As far as sheerness, I'd say if you're wearing light colored underwear, they'd probably be slightly visible, but otherwise, not noticeably see through.
