The desktop mount, like the entire frame, is amazing. Much better quality than I expected. The assembly was pretty straight forward. I've since added a few extra components to make it more functional, but the default package is good. I find that the light ring feels rather cheap and flimsy with its performance. Also, the pivoting mic arm, while functional, uses a fairly cheap plastic mount that seems relevant to 1980s karaoke, but I'd do just fine with a thick mic like the Rode NT-USB. I removed the plastic mic mount and bought an adapter to convert the thread size to a format that would allow me to add a Rode mic and it works really well. I overestimated the footprint and found my desktop setup options to be very limited, but I'd happily sacrifice those options for a reliable and affordable streaming station like this.
