Perfect One Cleansing Gel (made in Japan) is a gentle yet effective facial cleanser. It can break down and remove makeup and SPF without the need for an oil balm or second stage cleanser, although out of habit I used my regular water-based cleanser after application and treated it as a first stage oil cleanser. Applying the Perfect One 'Gel' the same way I applied the oil, I took a few pumps and gently massaged it all over my dry face until I noticed my mascara and tinted SPF were starting to frizz and curl. It is very fluid and thin with good spreadability. Then I added warm water and washed everything off. Perfect One Cleanser is easy to use, effective with no oily sheen or residue. You can use this as directed, using it like a regular facial cleanser after moisturizing the skin and then applying this no-foam gel. But I have found it to be more effective on a dry face as it starts to emulsify when water is added (collect the cream and rinse). Suitable for use in the morning and evening hours. The pump is not very beautiful and durable, but suitable for the product. The clear cleanser is oilier and more liquid than a traditional cleansing gel. Feels and works more like an oil flush. Almost odorless. I don't remember it having a strong odor; Nothing remarkable. I have mature, acne-prone, rosacea-prone, combination skin. I haven't experienced any irritation, dryness, redness, inflammation or new breakouts from using it. Overall it met my expectations and I was very happy with the quality and use.
