Wow! Perfect for a stack of NINE wide brimmed hats. Each of the nine hats I put in the box is 17-18 inches wide, with three hats having ruffles and flowers, making the stack larger. Nine fit perfectly in this box! (See photo). If I didn't have hats with ruffles or flowers I could add more than nine to the box. Maybe 15 hats? I used another hat box for small hats, but this box allows small hats to be mixed with large hats. This box is great for what you see in the photo: big hats! The zippered hat box opens wide for easy access to the hats. Soft but keeps its shape. The zipper is made of durable, transparent vinyl, so you can see what's inside from above. To provide extra protection I added two cardboard rectangles for extra support in case something was going to be placed on top of the hat box. A rather large, but unobtrusive-looking beige fabric. Just make sure you have enough shelf space for your hat box. Mine is prominently placed above the closet in the bedroom. A hat box could hang a few inches above a closet shelf and still hold up. Choose your hats and strategically stack them inside so they don't get crushed. A very good buy for my purposes. A real space miracle as well as hat protection.
