That's the point. 14 gauge (larger) fits perfectly in the carving of the 14 gram piece. But 16 gauge is a COMPLETELY different story. something and put a smaller trinket through the hole, it will bleed, and it will bleed HEARD. Imagine that a cork that is too small has been inserted into the bottle. The liquid would hypothetically all flow out. The same applies to inserting a new piece of jewelry into a newly pierced hole. 14g (heavy/larger) Needles and trimmings fit perfectly with no issues. But now I have an incredibly soiled shirt with a "16g" (smaller/thinner) trim that doesn't seem to fit a 16g needle. This is very frustrating and can cause healing issues! Please be careful. I read in some reviews that the jewelry is "too small" after purchase (unfortunately). If you want to use umbilical plugs, nipple plugs or thicker piercings, this is a good set. However, be careful if you intend to use smaller jewelry or may already own jewelry accurate to 16g. In terms of materials, however, the kit is of high quality.
