Use fast external PCIe drives without changing your motherboard.

Product is easy to install and works as advertised on my Windows 10 and Gigabyte X570 Xtreme motherboard. Be very careful when connecting the SATA cable to the card as the connector feels fragile and moves a little. Please note that you need to install it in at least one PCIe X4 or higher slot (X8 and X16 also work) to get high speed. With many mainboards, the X1 slots are only free when a graphics card is installed in its high-speed slot. Installation in the X1 slot limits the speed of the card to 5 Gbps. I installed it in an X4 slot and tested it on a new Samsung T7 external drive and got a write speed of 1050Mbps with the Orico Type-C connection. The same T7 drive on the motherboard put out 950 Mb/s when connected to USB 3 Gen 2 (10Gb/s). Newer high-speed external PCIe drives should deliver around 1750Mbps with this card. This is a significant increase in read/write speeds over USB 3 Gen 2 without having to replace my motherboard. The days of waiting for a 17Mbps flash drive to transfer large files are over!
