I looked at a hundred or more bike racks and they all rated a maximum tire width of 2.4″. I have bikes with 2.5" tires and this is the only floor stand that adjusts to fit wider tires. even 4 inch tires for fat bikes. There's also no problem with the large disc rotors banging against the rack and pinion mounts, which is important. The only drawback are the clamping screws, which have too coarse a thread to effectively clamp them in the cross member. I drilled a few holes in the cross member. Spacers where I wanted to position the uprights so I could stand further and to keep the set screws from constantly loosening. Electrical tape is also good to keep the vertical sections from sliding down the shaft. There is a caster version but this stand glides very easily on hard surfaces and the only reason casters are needed is for use on carpets.
