Review on πŸͺ‘ Tandy Leather Long Jumbo Perma-Lok Needle 1193-05: Superior Stitching Tool for Leathercraft Projects by Amanda Castillo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No more sharp melted ends on paracord bracelets! Just use this to tuck the ends back under the knots! Looks cuter too!

Ideal for paracord. We refine the bracelets with this so that the ends do not melt, but we fold them. thus there is no sharp molten part to rub the hand on the underside of the bracelet. Just cut the tip of the park cord at a 45 degree angle and melt it a bit to make it nice and pointy. Then thread it through the end of the needle and you can now thread it under a few knots. Once you pass the cord under the knot, always remove the needle. Do not use a needle to PULL. If you do this, you run the risk of the melted, pointed end of the string breaking into the threaded end of the needle and digging it out. It is made to be threaded and not pulled. I would choose a shorter one next time just because if you don't have much cord left at the end of your project it will be difficult to thread due to the length of the needle. Sometimes, when I have a small amount of cord left to thread, I'll go ahead and pass the needle under the 3 knots I want to pass through without fastening them. Just leave the back of the needle where the threads stick out. Then hook the short end of the paracord you want to hide onto the pin if it's already there. Otherwise you will not be able to turn the needle when the short string is attached. just a tip :) Works like a charm!

Pros
  • Leathercraft
Cons
