I was afraid to buy a knife set because I don't know anything about metals, serrated edge or ruler for knives etc. So I looked at the reviews and this turned out to be one of the top rated knife sets. I'm so glad I chose her. They were packaged nicely and each comes with a knife guard so you don't cut yourself. The moment of truth came with the cutting of meat, fruit and vegetables. They slice through the New York Strip like butter - don't tear through meat, slice through (thick layers) of caramel and chocolate apples without ripping off the cold chocolate (and the caramel hardens in the fridge), and slice through fresh large carrots with ease. I have washed and dried the knives (NOT in the dishwasher) after each use as per the instructions so I have no staining/rusting issues. I only bought a set of 4 so I will definitely be buying another set of 4; Just waiting to see how long they stay sharp. My son has a file to match the serrated edges so he can sharpen them properly as they have a straight/serrated combo blade.
