I have a problem with plantar fasciitis. My doctor told me to take a plastic bottle of soda, fill it with water, put it in the freezer and roll it around with my foot. It sounded a bit messy to me, so I looked for something else that was similar and wouldn't have as many problems. So I stumbled across this device and decided to give it a try. Here are my observations. Pros: This thing is pretty heavy at 1.1 pounds. It appears to be of good build quality. The lower part is made of rubber. The combination of rubber base and heavier weight means this massager won't move when you slide your foot over it. The steel balls are nearly an inch in diameter, so they feel solid when you walk your feet over them. They rotate in their nests. My problem with plantar fasciitis is mainly related to my heel. That's where I have the most pain. This massager is ideal for treating heel pain. I start with a light rub and then push deeper as my foot adjusts to the pressure. I keep it under my computer desk and actually use it as I write this review. As a massager, it feels good on my arches and under my toes. I found sore spots I didn't know about. You can put it in the freezer and those steel balls will get very cold. They stay cold for a good 20 minutes. I would advise wearing socks if using it after coming out of the freezer. Or be a real man/girl and slap your bare foot directly on those icy metal balls and bite your teeth a bit. It's easy to throw in your luggage and travel anywhere. No mess or fuss and can be used while seated - on a plane, bus, library, restaurant etc. Cons: I really can't think of any cons. This is a great article to help you treat plantar fasciitis issues.
