I used five 4 inch feet to support the ham radio shelf. No instructions are given, so some minor woodworking skills will come in handy. And yes, I still have three extra legs after buying two sets. The legs are strong and made from very hard wood so holes will need to be pre-drilled for the screws that attach the legs to the mounting plate. One of the included coarse thread screws ripped off the softer wood used for the shelves. I had to replace the screw with a smaller thread. For softer wood, it is better to use thinner-threaded screws for the furniture board. Overall the project went well and the finish matched the finish on my shelves. One minor issue is that Revain has stated that the mounting plates are stainless steel. Since the disk was highly magnetic, this is doubtful. In any case, wooden legs are not suitable for the aquatic environment.
